This is an illustrated example, not a real clan. Nothing here counts towards any leaderboard.
The Stoa of Athena
An example clan of mathematicians and physicists who work through olympiad problems together and publish every solution they verify.
Every clan is capped at 50 members. Entry is by application only — the Archon and their commanders accept or decline each one.
The hierarchy
Every clan follows the same Classical Greek order. Ranks are granted from above and every change is recorded.
Archon
The single leader of the clan.
Holds every power, and may pass the Archonship to another member.
Prytaneis
The presiding council, second only to the Archon.
May appoint and remove members up to Strategos.
Strategos
The commander, who leads the clan's efforts.
May promote and demote Ephebes and Hetairoi, and remove them.
Hetairos
The companion — a settled, trusted member.
Full member standing within the clan.
Ephebe
The newcomer, in their first fourteen days.
Contributes XP. Cannot be promoted until probation ends.
Applications
What a leader sees: each request waits until it is accepted or declined. Accepting adds the student as an Ephebe.
Applicant A
I compete in the national olympiad and would post every solution I write.
Applicant B
Second-year physics — I can help with mechanics bounties.
Members
Weekly contribution is capped per member, so standing reflects collective effort rather than one student's volume.

How a clan earns its standing
Contribution is scored, not counted — a large idle clan cannot outrank a smaller, engaged one.
- Verified notes, accepted bounty solutions and helpful reviews all contribute XP to the clan.
- Each member's weekly contribution is capped, so no single student can carry the clan.
- The share of members active in the last fourteen days weights the final score.
- Leaving a clan sets a 24-hour cooldown before joining or founding another.
